Stack and stack fittings are used for heating and cooling runs to upper stories via the 3 1/2" X 14 1/2" cavities between studs in interior or exterior walls.  They are also used in air distribution systems in basements and/or crawl spaces where space is limited.  These fittings are locked together by means of stack "S" clips which snap onto buttons punched in the ends of the stack and the rectangular ends of all fittings.
